17 Mile House- Centennial

  • Permit= No
  • Travel Fee= No
  • Description= A combination of open fields, trees, large fallen log and a creek bed. There is also a large red barn and an old white homestead that I don’t typically utilize but they are an option
  • Requirements= a little bit of walking along an easy trail (approximately 1/2 mile). I will only shoot here during the week because it tends to get very overcrowded. 

McCabe Meadows- Parker

  • Permit= No
  • Travel Fee= No
  • Description= A combination of open fields, trees, a running creek and a bike trail with a bridge.
  • Requirements= Requires a bit of walking depending on how far you want to venture (Approximately 1/2 mile). The creek area is best to visit at the end of our session so that if kids get wet, they won’t be wet throughout the entire shoot.

Evans Park

  • Permit= No
  • Travel Fee= No
  • Description= This location has tall pines, a small pond and small area of open fields. It has about a 1/2-mile hiking loop.
  • Requirements= About 1/2-mile trail loop to follow along. bring comfortable shoes to change in and out of.

Sandstone Ranch Trail- Larkspur

  • Permit= No
  • Travel Fee= No
  • Description= Wide open views of the foothills with some small red rocks in the distance.
  • Requirements= Requires some easy hiking (approximately 1/2-3/4 mile) so be sure to bring comfortable shoes to change in and out of.

Dawson's Butte Ranch Open Space- Castle Rock

  • Permit- No
  • Travel fee= No
  • Description= Tall pines with some open fields and a large butte.
  • Requirements= approximately 1/2 mile of hiking down a fairly easy trail. Comfortable shoes are recommended to change in and out of.

Clear Creek Trail- Wheat Ridge

  • Permit= No
  • Travel fee= $30.00
  • Description= Beautiful foliage with a large running creek and bridge.
  • Requirements= small amount of walking

Bingham Lake- Parker

  • Permit- No
  • Travel fee= No
  • Description= Beautiful trees with an open field looking over the lake.
  • Requirements-= Requires about 1/2 mile walk on an easy trail. Depending on the season, there is potential to get into the water (late summer/early fall).

Castlewood Canyon- Franktown

  • Permit= Yes; $40.00
  • Travel fee= No
  • Description= There are two different entrances. One entrance overlooks cliff edges with access to trails that will take you down into the canyon where the creek runs. These trails are moderate and will require some hiking shoes. The other entrance has views at the base of the foothills, an old homestead and trees.

Mount Falcon- Indian Hills

  • Permit= Yes; $25.00
  • Travel fee= yes; $25.00
  • Description= Beautiful views of the mountains, tall pinery and an excellent rock ledge with an epic view.
  • Requirements= Requires about 1/2 mile of hiking on an easy path if you are interested in going to the rock ledge.

Painted Mines Interpretive Park- Calhan

  • Permit= Yes; $100.00
  • Travel fee= Yes; $20.00
  • Description= Gorgeous painted rock formations
  • Requirements= Requires some hiking depending on how far we venture into the park.

Chautaqua Park- Boulder

  • Permit= Yes; $50.00
  • Travel fee= Yes; $50.00
  • Description= Vast open field with a view of the Flat Irons.
  • Requirements= This park can get very crowded so it is recommended to do a weekday session. Does require a short hike up a hill.

Elkhorn Ranch- Elizabeth

  • Permit= No
  • Travel fee= No
  • Description= Open field with a dry creek bed surrounded by large cottonwood trees.
  • Requirements= Requires minimal walking and is most beautiful from late Spring to early Fall.

Elk Meadow Park- Evergreen

  • Permit= Yes; $25.00
  • Travel fee= Yes; $45.00
  • Description= Open field with a beautiful view of the foothills. A rocky overlook is at the top if you want to venture further up the trail.
  • Requirements= An easy walk for the view of the foothills. If you’re wanting to get to the rocky overlook, you have about a 1/2 – 3/4 mile hike up a rocky trail to get to it.

Rocky Mountain National Park

  • Permit= Yes; $50.00
  • Travel fee= Yes; $90.00
  • Description= Epic views of the mountains from a lush meadow, running river, rocks… you name it, it’s there!
  • Requirements= Short walk through tall grass to get to the field/river edge.

Roxborough State Park- Littleton

  • Permit= Yes; $55.00
  • Travel fee= No
  • Description= Gorgeous red rock faces with scattered trees and open fields.
  • Requirements= Requires about a 1/2-mile walk. Must stay on the trail for photos as required by the park.

Casey Jones Park/Pavilion- Elizabeth

  • Permit= No
  • Travel fee= No
  • Description= tall pines and grass with a dirt road. up above there are some hiking trails with more fields and pines.
